We are a group of Colorado adults who support each other as we navigate the world while being our transgender (and other not-cisgender identities!) and autistic selves!
Today, we have a peer-support group meeting once a week for anyone who identifies as trans (or non-binary) and autisitic (this also includes people with Asperger’s). We do not require a formal diagnosis of autism for attendance. We also welcome people exploring their gender, even if they aren’t sure they are or are not trans.
Support Group Meeting
We meet once a week via Zoom for our support group. We meet every Saturday at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM (Mountain Time).
We’re a small group right now, so we mostly just provide a place for people to “be” as themselves. Try out a new name, talk about what is going on with your life, ask others about resources for transition, or learn from other people’s experiences being an autistic person in a world that isn’t designed for us.
To maximize privacy, we ask for the following:
- We ask all attendees be 18+ years old, as adult topics may be discussed.
- We ask that you identify as autistic (including Asperger’s). It is okay if you do not have a formal diagnosis but simply believe yourself to be autistic.
- We also ask that you identify as trans or non-binary. If you aren’t sure if you are trans/non-binary, but are exploring that possibility, you are also welcome.
To get information about this support group, send an email to meetings@transautistic.org. Just let us know you’re wanting to participate in the meeting. We’ll ask you to confirm that you meet the above requirements.
If you require disability accommodations to attend, please let us know what you require.
